About Adelle Hemingway

Adelle Hemingway grew up in the hills outside of Perth in Western Australia surrounded by bushland. She had a horse at a young age and loved exploring for hours on end in the bush and nature. She always knew she wanted to explore the world and travel from a young age and became interested in hiking at the tender age of 10 years old on what was then the old Bibulumun track. 1998 was Adelle’s first trip to Nepal, she instantly fell in love with Nepal and was determined to return and see more.

Her adventures have seen her hike the West Australian Bibulumun track 965 kms and the Overland trek in Tasmania. Adelle has cycled in Tasmania and along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. In 2000/2001 and 2004 Adelle worked for Overland companies WorldWide and Kumuka in Africa taking passengers from South Africa to Rwanda, travelling through Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.

When not travelling, Adelle has worked in Construction the truly flip side of the coin to her ideal holistic lifestyle that Nepal has inspired. One of the many  positives in her career were meeting some fantastic people along the way. After a few years of working in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, she got a fantastic break and took a 2-year contract in China. This allowed her to travel extensively  throughout Asia, with many  return trips to Nepal. Another contract followed in Laos  for a year, a fantastic experience of getting to know the people and be involved in the  culture.

The Hemingways Journeys concept was born after taking a year away from the Construction Industry, a week’s life coaching session with Carl in Bali, and a decision to take a year away from the industry for her own “Eat, Pray, Love thyself first” journey. In a search to change her life, to live her work life closer to her ‘path with heart,’ and a passion for travel and tourism have all helped Adelle to realize the concept. Her experience and knowledge of Project Administration, Logistics and HR in the construction sector, in some challenging conditions around the world, in combination with tour leading throughout Africa, gave her the skills and ability to think clearly under pressure and provide an excellent travel experience that will take all the stress out of any planning for you.
