Pokhara

Pokhara is 200kms from Kathmandu, approximately 7 hours on a tourist bus or you can fly there in 40 mins.  It is a fantastic tourist town surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains with a magnificent lake, good weather all year round and friendly Pokharlis will greet you with a smile. Imagine being surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the snowy peaks  perfectly reflected on the millpond-calm lake called the Phewa Lake which is 1.5 kilometres long and the second largest lake in Nepal. One can easily find a place to chill out, sit back, relax and enjoy a great meal while enjoying scenery or take in a pleasant boat ride on the lake. The village on the lakeshore is thronged by travellers and reverberating to the sound of 'om mani padme hum.'  There are countless shops selling prayer flags, carpets, masks, singing bowls and CDs of Buddhist mantras and your last minute trekking gear and snacks. Now that is Pokhara !!!
