We first came across Hemingway's Journeys when we decided to go trekking in Nepal in 2011. We wanted to support a local company in Nepal and experience something unique and personalised. That is exactly what we got. Hemingway's Journeys / Himatrek took care of everything, including organising trekking permits, flights, meals, accommodation, buses and private transport, giving us a stress free holiday. From the very beginning they catered to the itinerary we designed; a two week adventure involving trekking, white water rafting and onto Chitwan National Park. They were very informative and offered advise and suggestions so we were prepared before we stepped on the plane. They went above and beyond my expectations, and any question we had was never a problem and was answered straight away. Our minds were at ease and we felt very relaxed about the trip before we left.
Our guide on the trek Chhabi and porter Sangay, were wonderful and very funny. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them. They always made sure we were ok and were always on hand if we needed them. Chhabi is a very experienced guide, passing on knowledge of the region giving us a real insight into Nepalese culture, the people and the landscape.

If you want a trekking experience to remember we thoroughly recommend Himatrek / Hemingways Journeys to anyone, in fact we already have and they are leaving for Nepal in one months time. This is an adventure you will never forget and the Himalaya's are breathtaking. They are something you have to see to believe.
The friendly individual service and attention you receive is refreshing. It's great to see that good old fashioned service is very much alive. We are very pleased we chose Hemingway's Journeys / Himatrek and would not hesitate to use them again.

I just wanted to thank you for making my trip to Nepal so memorable.  Being greeted at the airport with flowers and your huge smiles was so welcoming and made me feel completely at home in a foreign country with such a different culture to Australia.   You took any stress and worry out of my holiday with the way you looked after all the details of the trek including organising trekking permits, flights, bus and flights around Nepal.

The most admirable detail was how you personally tailor made the trek to suit my schedule and requirements.  Our guide Krishna  and our porter Puspa were exceptional and delivered 5 start service Krishna has an excellent knowledge of the areas we trekked through and altitude restrictions and gave us step by step information on the Nepali culture, people and regions we trekked through.  Puspa was extremely capable and friendly, providing a fantastic service and carrying our bags with a smile on his face.  Both Krishna and Puspa  attended to our needs professionally and personally and also provided entertainment to us at night teaching us Nepali card games.

I would thoroughly recommend Himatrek / Hemingways Journeys to anyone who wishes to experience the adventure and awe of visiting your beautiful country.  The friendly individual service and attention that you provided is second to none and I feel extremely fortunate to have gone through your company for this experience of a lifetime.

Dear Himatrek,
A wonderful experience.  The grandure and enormity of the Himalayan mountains is hard to express in words. The views from Poon Hill were truly spectacular.  I loved the diversity of the landscape, the simplicity of the food, the friendly Nepalese people and the little surprises along the way that makes traveling an adventure.Thanks to Adelle, Govinda and the boys (Dawa, Kamal & Ramesh) for making my trek such a memorable experience.  Nothing was a problem or hassle and everything was flexible.  A special thanks to Hari and Dawa for treating my wife like their didi (sister).  You can never go to slow.  “Bistari Bistari.” Being busy with work and kids, Kim and I did very little preparation but Adelle always assured us we would be fine and we were.
I could not recommend Himatrek highly enough.  Thanks again it felt like one big happy family.

Just wanted to thank everyone for 2 awesome treks!  I especially enjoyed the Pooh Hill trek.  Govinda and Hari were great.  They were always checking on us making sure we were acclimatising, feeling okay, and enjoying the trek.  They were super flexible and could adjust travel plans for us. I also want to thank Adelle from Hemingways Journeys for organising everything and providing guidance and support before and during trek.   As this is my first trek, I had lots of questions and concerns I wouldn’t be able to handle it, but Adelle always followed up on these prior to my arrival and encouraged me and said I’d be fine (I was).  Hemingways Journeys and Himatrek handle everything from the moment you fly into Kathmandu to the moment you fly out, and really treat you like family as they love Nepal and want to share that with you so you have the best travel experience.
It was nice to be surrounded by such friendly, helpful, happy people.  Thanks to our porters Dawa, Ramesh and Kamal, always smiling, singing and entertaining. The views from Poon Hill were amazing.  I highly recommend Himatrek to anyone.  Had a great time and will definitely return to Nepal!

Dear Adelle,
Thank you so much for arranging our trip to Nepal for us. We loved every second of it and already can’t wait to go back. The plan you came up with for our trekking was perfect – we got to see a variety of places in the week that we had allowed for trekking.  The rocky mountains up around Kagbeni and Muktinath along with the colours of the Hindu and Buddhist temples up there at our highest point of the trek were an interesting place to start. We enjoyed walking back to the lower valleys over the course of the next few days, and fell in love with the rainforest type areas lower down. The hot springs at Tatopani were perfect for soothing our weary bodies! We loved the Annapurna area – the scenery, the teahouses, the trekking and the people up there were amazing, especially the children who were just so friendly and happy.  We were sad that we didn’t have more time, but the week we had was an awesome introduction to the joys of the Himalayas.  We will definitely be back for more! Thank you again for planning such an amazing trip for us, and for sharing your knowledge and passion for Nepal.  We loved Nepal and it already feels like another home to us now.  I don’t think it will be very long until we are contacting you again to help us plan another trip.
